Ironically, as I write this one of my wisdom teeth are hurting and have done so for the past two weeks now. I’m hoping though that the pain will magically disappear once I post about Wisdom Tooth and her lovely music. Because this destiny you see. The dentist and I however, are not.

At the tender age of 20, Wisdom Tooth (real name Meagan Day) is already about to release her own album on Pink Teeth Records. Besides her current project, Meagan also has ties with Laughing Owls and Skelecopter, and recently wrote and laid down vocals for a song produced by Me and the Horse I Rode In On. Considering that she’s been writing and recording songs since high school it’s no wonder she’s already come so far. Oh and did I mention she’s also in college?

Meagan herself sites “ukulele, garageband, heartache and gratitude” as her main instruments. This should give you an inkling of her sparse yet rich sound. She really doesn’t need much besides her pretty voice and a simple string instrument to create something very moving.

Simplicity seems to be a bit of a theme in Meagan’s life as some of her favorite things are small jars, birthdays and tea with whiskey in it. As for the future, all she asks for “is to have chickens and sunflowers in my yard”.
