~ Taxi Doll – “Waiting” (Josh Harris Remix) ~
The slower main version is good, but Josh Harris gives the track a great energy boost, making it suitable for the clubs as well as the charts. Even the vocals during the chorus sound better in this version. A fun not to mention catchy song!

~ Smothered In Hugs – “The River” ~
Bands who dare to put one of the best track at the end of the album always gets a little bit of extra respect from me (as long as the album as a whole is still good that is). Smothered In Hugs have done just that with “The River” – quality Canadian indie-pop with piano playing so peppery it would make Chris Martin’s mouth water. And yes, the whole album is good.

~ Pluramon – “The Monstrous Surplus/Turn In” ~
Modern shoegaze, need I say more? Beautiful track with childlike vocals that strongly reminds me of the singer from The Cranes. Fact is, hadn’t I know that this was a Pluramon track I would’ve easily assumed it was by The Cranes.

~ The Search – “We Fell Asleep In Each Others Arms And Never Woke Up Again” ~
Swedish The Search have a real knack for making new wave inspired indie-pop, probably more prominent than ever on this track thanks to the synthesizers. Makes me a bit nostalgic as it reminds me of a bunch of bands from the 80s I used to listen a lot to.

~ Breathless – “Over And Over” ~
Wonderful (and sorely under appreciated) shoegaze/dream pop from the early 90s. Sounds a rather lot like Pale Saints mixed with a bit of Galaxie 500, especially on this ballad that slowly builds up and expands as more instruments are added. Beautiful track, no doubt.
