Between August 27 – 30, 24 indie pop bands from New York City, Chicago, Seattle, Dallas, Milwaukee, Omaha, Lincoln, NE, Lawrence, KS, Ames, IA, Des Moines, Denmark, Brazil, and Indonesia will be playing at the first-ever Nebraska Pop Festival.
The festival is being held in benefit of Mavradio, the college radio station at the university Nebraska-Omaha [...]
This morning I came across a great mixtape of Japanese and Korean music made by a girl called Rinkymoon over at LiveJournal. She kindly gave me permission to re-post it here which I’m very happy about because this mix (despite its title) is cracking. It’s mostly indie, shoegaze and post-rock, so if you’re into that [...]
I’ve accumulated a lot of CDs over the years. A rather large portion of them have been in the basement for some time, either because I didn’t listen to them anymore or just didn’t want them cluttering up the apartment. ~Tracklist~
01. Lacrosse – “We Are Kids”
02. Mando Diao – “Gloria”

Consider yourself warned though: I was mainly into pop music alá Madonna back then; The Smiths and the like didn’t enter my record [...]

I think this is a really cute idea. In the past I’ve considered giving out anonymous postcards and letters to strangers as a surprise but this is even better. Too bad I’m paranoid about getting caught. Don’t want some grumpy old man wondering why you have your fingers down his mail slot. OK, that just [...]
