There really isn’t much to say about Bat For Lashes‘ sophomore album other than that it’s really, really good. Great even. There  - shortest review ever. Fine, I’ll try to elaborate a bit more than that.

Two Suns has made me convinced what the debut Fur and Gold made many think, that Bat For Lashes (real name Natasha Khan) is the modern day Kate Bush. Not that there’s anything wrong with the actual Kate Bush, but she’s been rather quiet for a long time now. Plus Khan reminds me of Kate Bush back in the day: the more experimental, eccentric musician that somehow also managed to remain elegant and balanced. With her sheer voice and exotic blend of musical influences (how about some oriental gospel?) Khan got that pinned down as well. She’s the sophisticated hippie that creates dreamscapes and beautiful illusions that you wish were still tangible after the music has stopped playing.

Two Suns is set for release on April 6th and will be accompanied by a UK tour which will be supported by the similarly spacey School of Seven Bells. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to put up an mp3 from the Bat For Lashes album, so here’s a song by said supporting band instead. Because that totally makes sense.
