~ Scarlet Youth – “Sunshine Girl” ~
If this song is any indication, then Finland and Germany make a great team – at least when it comes to making shoegaze music. Has that hazy, almost kind of chilly feel to it, despite the title.

~ Mimicking Birds – “The Loop” ~
This is one of those gloomy, beautiful songs that I love with a passion. Like a blanket to wrap around your shoulders when the world feels cold and cruel.

~ Eldkvarn – “I Skydd Av Mörkret” ~
One of my favorite Swedish bands that I don’t listen to nearly as much as I ought to. I often avoid Swedish lyrics because, honestly, there aren’t many songwriters who can master it very well (I’m looking at you, Per Gessle!). Eldkvarn however can, as well as make seductive melodies which this track is an excellent example of.

~ The Papertiger Sound – “Tiny Robot Love” ~
Dream pop goodness I just can’t get enough of: sweet male/female vocal combo, dreamy synths and rhythmic guitars. This is no tiny love for me!

~ Rah Rah – “Duet For Emmylou And The Grievous Angel” ~
A swaying, bitter ballad of sorts. Good (and at times rather funny – “I won’t miss you now, won’t give a shit if you die”) lyrics, beautiful folksy music and good male/female vocals. That actually pretty much sums up the whole album.
