I Am The Crime
A Fine Mess

I’ll admit to not being very fond of Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ latest album It’s Blitz!. Compared to their other stuff it feels vapid and empty. I was hoping they’d continue in the same vein as their Is Is EP. This remix of “Heads Will Roll” from mentioned album is however really good. Not that it makes YYYs sound like their old selves, not at all, but it’s a very nice spin on it. Their current electronic sound is preserved, with the addition of a bit of ambient style. All thanks to Weird Tapes (aka Memory Cassette).

I don’t claim to stay on top of what O’Spada are up to, but I do think they’re pretty good and I gotta support my fellow Swedes, right?
This time it’s a remix of the track “Ten Strikes” done by French producer DAZE, as well as a video of the original version of the song done [...]

Despite already featuring them on the site twice, I haven’t given Desire a proper introduction yet. To be honest I wasn’t even planning to but it only seems appropriate now that they make their third appearance (albeit with the help of some guest stars).
Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Desire consists of Megan, Johnny and Natty. Befitting [...]

It’s Saturday night and I’m bored out of my skull, so why not actually something somewhat productive, like, update my blog?
Despite what many fellow music bloggers may think of her, I actually like Amanda Blank. And I like YATCHT even more thanks to their latest album. So when Dave Wrangler decided to mix the two [...]

The original version of O’Spada’s “Time” that I posted a while ago has been given an extensive make-over, as the band recently held a competition for people to remix it and potentially end up on the official single that is due out this week on iTunes.
The winner has now been crowed and it’s the “Suck [...]

Enchanting duo Magic Wands‘ EP Magic Love & Dreams is out this week (read my full review here) and while I was slightly disappointed with the low offering of new material on it, we now at least have a new remix to sink our teeth into. The equally enchanting Sean over at Battery In Your [...]

Why yes, it’s another remix! (i.e. a slacker post)
Bat For Lashes‘ beautiful single “Daniel” has once again gotten a make-over, this time by a lady called Tara Busch. (I’m assuming it’s not the wrestler or nude model that pops up in Google search)
Like the Josh Reichman cover I posted recently it doesn’t beat the original [...]

Yes, I know; we all heard Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” to death by now. But this mash-up with Eurythmics’ classic hit “Sweet Dreams” by Divide & Kreate is indeed pretty sweet.
Something fun for the weekend. Enjoy!

~ SPC ECO – “For All Time” ~
Essentially pretty basic shoegaze: angelic female vocals, twinkling keyboards and harsh guitars mixed with some electronic beats. A formula that works for a reason. From their new album 3-D.
~ The Love Language – “Lalita” ~
Fun, energetic and quite noisy indie rock that no doubt will make you move in your seat and drum [...]

Max Justus continues being awesome by remixing another seven tracks of 808s & Heartbreak, the not so well received 2008 album by Kanye West. Previously Justus remixed the song “Street Lights” of said album, turning it into a slick dance tune.
Now he given the same treatment to a additional seven tracks by intensifying the already present electronic patterns and adding his own [...]

Definitely interesting. Makes them sound like quirky Dntel-ish indie electro.

Agree with Sean above. This makes them into a Dntel clone,
