College – “She Never Came Back” Video

COLLEGE – “She never came back” from Frantz Lasorne on Vimeo.

“She Never Came Back” is by far my favorite song from College’s album Secret Diary. So when I saw that a video had been made for it, I got a little giddy. Then I got even more giddy because my computer decided to come home. Kind of appropriate, right? She did come back. Not that my computer is a ’she’ but, whatever, it goes with the song… Anyway, back to the video: not the kitschy 80s masterpiece I was hoping for (it’s actually rather dull and pointless) but it’s pretty to look at and if it helps the song get more attention, then I’m all for it.

Not the most original song to cover, but Ane does it beautifully. One of the most heartbreaking versions I’ve heard of this Cyndi Lauper hit. Used in a TV commercial here in Sweden.

A sweet, fast-paced little twee-like song. One (or perhaps several, I’m not sure) of the band members are also in Divorce which is the the complete opposite of Sexy Kids – metal! Needless to say, I prefer this sound.

A bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. Their sharp electroclash-pop mixed with girly vocals probably sounds trashy to many but I just can’t resist it. Someone needs make a movie about a dangerous female robot just so this can be the theme song!

~ Headless Heroes“True Love Will Find You In The End” ~
From one of my favorite albums of 2008 (The Silence Of Love), a cover album nonetheless. A lovely, lovely, lovely take on this song, kinda psychedelic with beautiful vocals. That’s all I need to say about it really.

French electronica with an old school sound. Most of his songs are instrumental but this one features female vocals. Sounds like it should be on the soundtrack to some cool 80’s thriller movie.
