~ Alessi’s Ark – “Simple Man” ~
I adore Alessi Laurent-Marke’s voice, it’s so sweet and endearing which is more evident than ever on this beautiful cover. Seriously, her voice and a guitar is all this girl needs to get your full attention and spellbound you for a long, long time.
~ Keats’ Handwriting – “Little Reminder” ~
Indie-pop duo with heavy electronica influences, Keats’ Handwriting were kind enough to send me a couple of their tracks and this one immediately stood out. What can I say, I’m incredibly weak for synth-ish electronica fronted by female vocals.
~ Matt Walters – “Echo On” ~
Australian singer/songwriter who sounds much older and wiser than his mere twenty years of age. A very pretty song, calm and soothing. This is the title track from his EP which is due to be out in July. Something to look forward to!
~ Max Justus – “Bending Space and Time” ~
A new original track from one of my favorite electronic artists. As I’ve mention before I’m usually not much for instrumental dance tracks, but Max Justus is obviously the exception. I love the strong synths and his usual 80s inspired style on this one.
~ Andrea Perdue – “Birds” ~
Such a sweet little folk-tune. The lyrics are both in English and French which just makes it even sweeter. If you like this then I urge to head over to her Last.fm page and download the whole Handscape EP for free.

Max Justus continues being awesome by remixing another seven tracks of 808s & Heartbreak, the not so well received 2008 album by Kanye West. Previously Justus remixed the song “Street Lights” of said album, turning it into a slick dance tune.
Now he given the same treatment to a additional seven tracks by intensifying the already present electronic patterns and adding his own grinding sound, yet preserving the hip hop beats. He even makes Kanye’s auto tune voice sound like it fits in.
And you know what’s really awesome? The whole damn thing is available for free.

Max Justus has accomplished something I’ve long considered impossible – making Kanye West not only sound bearable but actually really good to my ears. His remix of “Street Lights” transforms the song from a rather badly sung half-ballad to a cool slow-jam club track.
I shouldn’t have expected any less though as Max Justus is also one of the few electronica artists who manage to hold my attention by mainly doing instrumentals. Usually I need vocals to fully enjoy a song, but Justus has a way to fill up the audio sensory experience to the max with his sharp synthesizers and funky hip hop beats. Just listen to “Altered Beast” from his latest effort Five Leaping Leopards and you’ll know exactly what I mean.
Also make sure to pop over to his MySpace for a free download of the album Talking To Strangers.
