After initially meeting at a “terrible local gig” on their residential island in south east England in early 2008, David and Aimee began the new year constructively by starting The Mono.

There’s no doubt about their influences when listening to the demo “It’s A Clockwork”: Talking Heads, Gary Numan, David Bowie, and Wire are all in there, as well as the short-lived but influential New York noise/No Wave scene.

Currently David and Aimee are keeping busy writing and recording in their home studio, and hoping for touring and festivals in the coming year (although they’re not “unleashing the live show till it’s ready and recorded”). Apparently there’s quite a buzz going on about them in industry, so their future plans will probably go like clockwork. (oh come, I had to!)
